Fiala signs a long-term extension

Credit to alwaysnextyear for this. This one is slightly different, but pieces are almost all the same. Wild should have traded for Miller at the deadline, but they finally secure a legitimate 1C. The plan would be to sign Miller long-term, but no extension is agreed to at the time of the trade. Duchene was moved with 1 year left on his deal for a similar cap hit to Columbus for a 1st, conditional 1st upon re-signing (no longer allowed and Miller does not come with an extension), Abramov, and Davidsson. Vancouver gets more than that with this trade netting a 1st, Dumba (approx. value of at least a 2nd), their own 2nd back, and either Jost or Kulikov. I chose Jost since he's younger, an RFA, and he didn't really get a shot here to play up in the lineup.

Honest assessment of Dumba: he's a fine top 4 pairing guy that deals with consistency issues and can be injury prone. Some nights he looks really good, other nights he makes stupid mistakes that lead to goals against. His defense has come a long ways since he entered the league, but his offense hasn't been the same since he tore his pec a few years ago. He still has a huge shot and can be very physical, he also is a really underrated skater. I know Canucks fans are looking for a more defensive guy, so he's not the best fit, but he certainly is a top 4 right shot D that can play a good two-way game most nights. Allegedly he's also a huge energizer in the locker room.
