Can’t see Dallas giving up two young players in that deal. Maybe Dellandrea, can’t see Bourque though. Gregor has been cookin and brings more to the table IMO than Nieto, id move Nieto for a 5th or something like that.

Dallas isn't giving up Bourque for Burns. Stars are already one of the oldest teams in the league. Their focus this offseason should be on getting younger and building around their core of Heiskanen, Hintz, Robertson, and Oettinger. There are cheaper options available on the UFA market that can come in and play a depth RD role for Dallas that won't be on contract until they're 40

I agree with your comments about the stars. There isn’t much in the market of defense, particularly right shot D this offseason. Only decent younger RD is Deangelo and I’m sure there’s teams that aren’t willing to sign him, not sure if the stars would be one of those.

I feel like Burns is very underrated around the league over the past two seasons. He isn’t the best defensively, that’s for sure, but he still brings a lot to a team. 50 points this year, plays all situations, 3rd in the league in time on ice and man the guy is in shape. Just a matter of when he starts to decline though.

Yeah I'm kinda surprised they didn't move him at the deadline to be honest, 2 playoff runs with a Contendor at 850k probably could have got a half decent return. (Least PK goals conceded while he's on the ice was a Stat I heard recently)

Im sure whoever the coach is next season will want at least 1 vet on the 4th line though that's why I had him over Gregor in starting line-up

Trading for Hill would be a “last resort” type move for the Sabres imo
I think we are looking for a more established Vet who can mentor our young goalie talent
