We NEED Travis Dermott

To be fair, that left side is horrible besides Pelech (not saying Dermott is a difference maker but he's solid)

Dermott drives play at an elite level 5 on 5 (at a 3rd pair level) but cannot play either PP or PK. You have to ask yourself would you prefer a play driving defender or one that is a PP or PK specialist that can't drive play 5 on 5.

Dermott is not much of an upgrade over what the Islanders already have, regardless of how weak their current left side is. The Islanders are not going to pay assets for a lateral move at best. There's a reason Dermott and Mrazek are in almost every single AGM made by a Leaf fan.

Chara is the worst defenseman in the NHL, any NHL caliber defenseman is a significant upgrade over him
