Another TDL idea

The Stecher move feels kind of lateral, I'd rather just save the assets and play Holl. Stecher may be better than Holl but is he so much better that he moves the needle?

I like the Hagel trade, Blackhawks would probably accept as well considering their asking price, maybe remove the 2nd and up the prospect quality like Abruzzese, Mikheyev, a 1st and a 3rd.

I kinda don’t want to trade Abruzzese as he’s a year away from the league. Why trade him when he’s almost NHL ready.

As for Stecher he provides more puck mobility for Muzzin as he needs that. Holl can’t move the puck and teams are abusing Holl inability to move the puck

I can't see Stecher as an improvement for the Leafs, but of course all other Dmen are so much more superior than Leaf Dmen. If anything the Leafs should use assets to acquire a position of need instead of acquiring a third line left winger, which is position of strength and depth for the Leafs.

The puck moving aspect is a very good point, definitely would help that 2nd pair so I take back what I said about that.

Also, I agree with you about Abruzzese, I don't want to trade him either. However, Blackhawks might want a more "real" prospect for Hagel. It would come down to whether or not you think Abruzzese has a chance to provide similar value to Hagel in the next 2.5 years.
