Description
Just a few college FAs that (I believe) are available to be signed by anyone. i didn't go through any signings, just made the college FAs I thought would be good.

Vecchione is the top college FA left according to most scouts, and his two way play and scoring touch would be great on either Krecji or Bergy's wing.

Peyton Jones is a big athletic goalie who I think would do well against professional competition.

Johnson is another wing who has decent size (could stand to bulk up a bit) but found his scoring touch this year and Minn.

I feel like these FAs, on top of the prospects we already have could bring a boost to our young core down in Prov, and potentially make an impact in 2017-18 or 18-19.

Now I don't know what these guys' value truly is, or how many teams will be bidding for them, but these are the 3 that I thought could help out the B's the most. Let me know what you all think.

I think Peyton Jones would have to be drafted if I'm not mistaken, but who knows. He's been really solid for Penn State.

I know the Flyers are in on Vecchione since him and Ghost played together in college and won a national title at Union together. He also went to our camp this year - pretty sure he was at BOS's the year prior though so if i had to guess its a race between those two and maybe the other northeast teams.

Ah really? I saw him a list of top FAs out of college, but noticed he'd only been at Penn for one year, so I was t certain.

And after I posted I saw the article about philly and vecchione. I have a glimmer of hope that him being from Boston helps us haha

Jones is a FA and does not have to be drafted. Boston is one of the front runners for Vecchione but not THE front runners. He would be nice addition especially because he's A RH shot he can play RW. I like Jones but with ZMac, Subban, Vladar there I doubt they go that route unless they are planning on moving on from Subban or think they might lose him to Vegas.

@Nut: I think the B's need to either trade Subban for a minimal return, let him sign elsewhere, or have him lost to Vegas. He's not working here, and I am ready to call him a big ol' bust haha. And then that leaves Mac and Vladar, but hopefully the B's would move Dobby and have Mac up as the primary back up to Tuukka. Then Jones and Vladar would split the duty in Prov adjusting to professional hockey speed. That's just what I would hope for.

I agree they should move him. But I think he still has more value than most B's fans feel he has. You can't judge someone by a pair of half games. Granted they were bad....really bad but still a very small sample size and he has been one of the better goalies in the AHL the last 3 years. I am surprised they didn't do something with Dallas who are in goalie hell at the deadline. They have 2 overpaid vets on the main and nothing in the system. They can't go sign a FA with 11mil still owed to Lehtonen and Niemi and anyone drafted this year won't be ready in time to take over when those deals run out. Subban would give them someone in the pipeline that could fill the gap.

Dobby hasn't been as bad as B's fans think either. He had a rough start to the year giving up 4 goals in 3 of his first 5 starts but he's been fine otherwise. Scary...but fine. To much was made of W/L record but he could have and should have been .500 thru his first 8 starts instead of 1-7. Team was shutout twice in games he played well in and another he held Carolina to 2 in regulation and they lost. But I'd still rather see ZMac as backup.

If they are thinking of moving on from 1 or both they should be considering pursuing Jones. But considering he can sign with anyone and his path to the NHL would be pretty blocked right now in Boston I imagine he will sign elsewhere.
