Holtz is a great pure goal scorer, with a shot similar to Ovi. He does need to develop his 2-way game and gain some strength for the NHL hence why he probably got send down to the AHL today.

Formenton is also shown that he belongs in a top 6 role and looks really good with Batherson and Norris. Another thing this trade does is help even up the players that are Right shot vs Left shot for the Sens top 6 in the long term. Stuzle - Pinto - Holtz would not start right away together but honestly they would balance out as a great line and would most likely become the first line in time.
Also, a Chabot - Holtz PP1 D pairing would be elite for a long time.

I am not sure if the Devils would take this as a one-for-one trade, but that is why I mentioned if it needs to be a sign and trade or Sens need to add a pick to make this happen I would be fine with that.

I was hoping he would have been available for the sens with the pick they used on Sanderson at the time.

When White gets Healthy then Paul - White - C Brown becomes a very solid 3rd third line, and Tierney is expendable to get something better or as a 4C to help bring in players like Sokolov and Greig until more Players come off ELC's.

This all doesn't work though if like the issue with Brady right now, the Team can not sign players to long-term deals and the owner finally isn't scrapping to make the Cap Floor!
