There are many reasons why that move doesn't work for the Pens, but the most basic reason is cap space. As of right now the Pens have $121K in available space. Unless you're taking some serious salary back, there's no way the Pens can even fit him under the cap.

You can get more for Rads if retained, and you can get wayyyyy more for Klingberg. We absolutely hated the other Ritchie, it would take payment to take him. Klingberg should get the same return as Jones if traded, not a player who we really don't want, a 1st and a 3rd.

Pavelski trade is accurate if you put max retention, but I don't see a fit with the Pens.

How is Pavelski getting more in trade return then Klingberg?
