Why does NSH do this? Yes Johansen is overpaid, but he still provides value on the ice and the Preds aren't under any sort of cap crunch. You've got NSH giving up a top six player, retaining $4M needlessly, giving up the better draft pick, and a better, more NHL ready prospect than the two they're getting back (Ingram could be in the NHL next season. By the time either of Clang or O'Connor are ready, they're not going to get much of a chance with Saros and Askarov ahead of them). There's no upside for the Preds here.
