I agree, there may be some more components to make the trade work but I think the framework aligns with each team walking away somewhat satisfied.
If Karmanos turned down that trade, he should be fired.
IMO Drouin does not have that much negative value.
He is more zero value.
He is currently over paid for his production last year, but he has the potential to be a 50 pt forward.
If Karmanos made a trade as this for Drouin, I would hope he would follow it up with a trade to move Olofsson.
Left wing is already a little crowded and Olofsson actually has decent value.
He could return a first if Buffalo added or took on a partial cap dump.
That would give the Sabres 4 first round picks in a rebuilding year.
