Description

Ladies and Gents, your 2021-22 Boston Bruins. I believe the Bruins will be "in" on a few players. I think Blake Coleman will be rumored, Suter and Martinez. I think we'll hear about DeBrusk trade rumors. But in the end Sweeney will say the price wasn't right. The price will never be right with him. We're in a unique spot right now with a real solid amount of cap space and some names on the board that could truly help improve this team for a potential cup run. Maybe I'm wrong but I dont expect any fireworks this offseason. Personally I dont absolutely hate this line up but Im definitely not a big fan of it. The defense is still weak in my opinion and the bottom 6 is probably about the same as it was last year. To be a contender I think you need to somehow manage having DeBrusk-Coyle-Smith as the third line and finding a guy via trade or UFA to fill in on Krejcis right. I think if they want to resign Reilly, he cant be 2nd pair dman. I love Clifton but I'd rather see a guy like Bogosian in his spot. Maybe Im just being a pessimist but overall I dont see the Bruins doing much this off season.

If the B's are confident in their goaltending, signing Hall and having Kase return to form would make for a great offseason IMO. Don't always need big changes

Personally I dont know if Kase will return to form. He really hasn't played in almost 2 years now. Probably more realistically a year and a half. And even before then was struggling to stay healthy. He's had one outlier season where he scored 20 goals. Ppl can keep up all the hope in the world for him but I dont think he'll ever follow thru.

Ritchie I'd agree with potentially moving. DeBrusk I think they're still too attached to him. Its really all Sweeneys got left from that first draft that has done anything to significantly impact the line up. I also think they'll overvalue DeBrusk in any negotiation compared to what other GMs around the league value DeBrusk at. I guess I just dont have my hopes up for much.

I'm okay if they leave the forward group alone, but they need to add two defensemen. Suter and Cole would be my choices. They also need to add someone to compete for a roster spot in net, whether that's Fred Andersen or Raanta or someone like that. They should have just brought back Halak. But maybe he didn't want to return.
