    Don't waste cap room in future years with the signing of Franson and Ehrhoff: Short term maybe. RFAs need to be soon.

    I can maybe see what you mean with Ehrhoff, but its only a 2.75 cap hit. As for Franson, I would heavily disagree that he is a waste of cap room for the future. This roster has $7.7 mil of cap space...after this season with the departures of Colaiacovo, McGinn, Legwand, and potentially Weber, that leaves the team with $16.2 mil of space next offseason WITHOUT the raise in the cap.

    Part of my logic is, after watching Franson for years, I don't think he worth such money and term.....hence don't waste your money. Maybe next year there may be more "value" in FAs. How about Shattenkirk, a NY State guy in two years?
