Hawks don't land Jones or Dougie in the sweepstakes so pick up a consolation prize in Suter. Big LD who still has some offense left and will come cheap(er). Suter is overpaid but only because this is 1 year contract. He's also a veteran presence since the loss of Keith and Seabrook.

Mitchell, Beaudin and Reichel start in the AHL and get some high end minutes in to further their development.

Suter to Hawks makes a lotta sense. Maybe the Jets if wants to be on a better "contender". Or if Tampa restructures their cap...he signs with Tampa for 1m

I like this ALOT more than giving away the store for Seth Jones. The Dmen that will be UFA's next summer are Lindholm, Jones, Rielly, Pullock, Nurse, Parayko, Ekholm, Klingberg, plus more.

***EDIT*** I can't wait for a Suter to Suter goal.

Same! These mock trades of Reichel, Mitchell, 1st, and Kurashev for Seth Jones... NO THANK YOU! Especially because Hawks aren't Vegas or Colorado where we're on the cusp and need to push hard. This hasn't been a playoff team for 4 years (last year was a fluke) so selling off tons of 21year old assets is the wrong move.

I also want a Suter to Suter connection. Plus his uncle Gary played for the Hawks and he's from Wisconsin so this is close to home for him, if that's important.
