That Vancouver trade is a joke. Vancouver would have to include their 2022 1st round pick for taking Eriksson’s contract. Why even bother including the fifth and the sixth round pick? Give up a prospect worth something. Especially if Reinhart has an extension in place his value is higher and you’re paying a lot more.

i can understand that. His contract only has 1 year left and Buffalo doesn’t intead to compete in 2021 so I didn’t think it really impacted the Sabres from a financial standpoint. But you’re right I should have included another 2nd at the very least.

Pens can’t take Risto if Sabers don’t retain. They definitely don’t get a 2nd round pick if they don’t retain too.

His value comes from only having 1 season left at around 3M. Not 5.4M. At 5.4M he has a lot less value.

Ya, it doesn’t even have to be all 50%. If the retain 2M-2.4M for 1 season, he has a lot of value at 3M per or even 3.4M per.
