Trades like this are exactly why the knights are where they’re at and if Hedman conveniently goes to LTIR and comes back for the playoffs everyone’s gonna hate Tampa more than they already do

They'll have to pull off a miracle with 18.5M extra cap to fit in next season and that's without counting the bargain deals of Goodrow and Coleman. If no LTIR is used, a half dozen pieces will have to be purged ala Blackhawks 2010-11.

If I was Seattle I ask for the moon as no one can fit these multiple contracts but the Kraken. Seattle is in a better position than the Knights with a flat cap

Honestly Seattle should definietely do this. Palat can be one of their star forwards ( if not the star for the first year or more) and Johnson is a homegrown player who despite being overpaid is still a center with great skating ability. If he could just find some of that scoring ability (that he used to show so often) in a new home it would be good for Seattle. Fote has top 4 potential and could play on the bottom pair from day 1. The only thing I would say is Tampa should get a 3rd because Foote to take Johnson might not be enough, but Palat is still worth at least a 2nd.

Agreed but Seattle doesnt have to do them this favor.
What's fair isnt a thing in a flat cap world.
The Kraken could say we wont take Tyler Johnson unless they get 3 pieces. What are the Lightning gonna say ??no thanks, we'll try our luck elsewhere?? K. Have fun with that and no market!
The Bolts need to purge either way. Whether its Killorn or Palat, one of them needs to go so their value may actually be nil.
And they still wont be close to cap compliant. I remember last Summer ppl were speculating that you had to pay to dump Killorn or Palat.
