Eriksson kicks rocks in Abbotsford.

I bet that Virtanen is looking at a contract termination, but we'll buy him out for now.

Highmore stays because he kills penalties good.

Scott Mayfield trade is expensive for VAN but at a great cap hit for a serious need. Decided to make it look like the Devon Toews trade. NYI accepts because they want to protect Nick Leddy.

Goodrow might require a classic Benning 4yx$3m deal... But he is actually still useful. Might age poorly but without Eriksson and the Luongo recapture it's not nearly as cumbersome.

Hoping that Emil Pettersson turns out to be a gem.

The biggest reach here is the Dickenson trade. His age is perfect for our core. The cap hit may be too low. He is the exact type of player we need and at 3C, so instead of McTavish we can take a Lysell or a Guenther or Eklund if they somehow fall that far in the 2021 draft at 9OA, and hope they can add to our top 6 in two years time. Hopefully Dallas is thankful we save them the expansion headache at a similar cost to what we payed for JT Miller.

We expose Lind, MacEwan, and Myers on defense, which Seattle does not help us with. They settle for MacEwan (or Lind, whatever) and he makes the short trip down the I-5.

Sutter gets injured, inevitably, so either Boyd or Graovac fill in. Pearson eventually gets usurped by Podz on the 2nd line. I think Edler would start the year on the 3rd pairing but Rathbone gets in quickly. Juolevi is the injury fill in, followed by Chatfield. We scrape into the playoffs but lose in the first couple rounds.
