Making this team tougher - 2nd attempt

If fighting majors are an indication of a NHL teams ability to win games or even playoff games, I would agree you. But since they aren't, what's your point? Most of these "gritty" players you seem to think are big difference have won very few playoff rounds in their career.

I wouldn’t expect boston and toronto to be making any trades. I really wouldn’t expect rental Morgan Reilly to command that kind of price tag. Maybe a team that would be looking to extend him could give up more, but boston having to extend mcavoy basically kills that notion.

I think you could acquire Ryan Reaves for way less then a 3rd rounder.

I think you may have overpayed for Marcus Foligno. I mean he is good but I don't think giving up a talented prospect and a 1st rounder is worth it.

As far as fighting goes when was the last time you watched an NHL game? That part of the game is dead. The league Average is 12 and the leaf's have had 8 (not 6) this year. Not that far off.


Now the Leaf's have been a soft team and need players that can play heavy. Part of the reason they went out and got Foligno, Simmonds, Nash

This team is primed for a long run this year. Lets see what they do in the playoffs
