Healthy Playoff Lineup

Montréal already used up all 4 call ups. They can’t play Caufield & Evans ahead of Lehkonen & Staal.

It's the playoff lineup there is no limit on callups for the playoffs.

There is no limit to call ups in the playoffs if you don’t use more than 3 call ups after the deadline. The habs used their 4th call up to call up Romanov a few days ago, which means that they can’t call anyone else up on a regular call up for the rest of the season, including the playoffs.

When did the rule change was that just changed this year?Cause I understand the rule as: Regular recalls are limited to 4 after the deadline until the playoffs as described in the following section taken from the link below.

Regular Recalls

Once the trade deadline has passed, each team is allowed four regular recalls until their affiliated AHL club’s season has finished. At that point, the team can recall any number of players from the AHL. The rosters also expand following the trade deadline and teams are not held to the 23-player roster limit. Players don’t need to be placed on Injured Reserve to make room if the team is already at 23 players.

I completely forgot that Laval’s season ends so soon (because of the NHL’s delays and no AHL playoffs). So I guess if the team is fully healthy Caufield & Evans might miss the first game of the playoffs, but that’s it.
