-NJ gets lotto protection on the pick, if it's a lotto pick the Flames get a 2023 1st.

- Flames fans might look at this as an underwhelming return, but I don't think the Flames will be getting a bunch for Gaudreau. The 1st is the big one here. Pasic has had a bit of success in the SHL and Moynihan fills an organizational need as a RHS forward

I have a hard time finding trade fits for Monahan, it absolutely doesn't need to be FLA though. At this point to get a 1st rounder, I think you need to do a pick swap a 1 for the Flames 2nd.

Once again not sure the return for Monahan is massive. Benning fills an organiztional need at RD and Lindmark has a chance to be a player if he keeps progressing at Wisconsin

Probably a 3 team trade, the Flames eat half and the 3rd team eats salary as well.

It could be any team in this instance. For 25% of his salary, Gio would fetch a 1st for the Flames at the deadline.

This is all done with the idea that the Flames need to rebuild and next year there are potentially 3 franchise C's to be had.

    Lol. Yes, teams will be banging down the door to acquire Monahan and Gaudreau. So, yeah I can see how a 1st and prospects is giving away "best players". If you're expecting 3 1sts for Gaudreau and 2 1st's for Monahan, it isn't happening. Monahan couldn't even get the centre ice starved Wild to give up Dumba last year, his value will be even lower after this season. Gaudreau will have a limited market because it's a 1yr rental for the acquiring team if it isn't NJ/NYR/NYI/BOS/PHI. Teams know that and it's gonna be tough to get a fair return
