No need to even think of trading this season.
I expect Laine will either sign a 1yr bridge or Columbus will opt for arbitration (to avoid an offer sheet) and then Laine will select a 1yr term. After that year, if Laine doesn't want to do a long term extension then you entertain the idea of trading him in the summer of 2022, as he would have one more year of RFA. The risk to CBJ is that Laine gives them a one team list where he'd sign an extension (like Trouba did to Winnipeg) and then their return would not be as high as it would have been on the open market.
