Just to be clear - I want Jeff Blashill gone, but I feel like he gets too much hate. He hasn't had any talent to work with whatsoever in his time in Detroit (although he hasn't made the team look better than it is). He's coaching a super defensive system this year to try and give Detroit a chance to win games since we don't have the talent to outscore teams. We've done a pretty good job suppressing other teams at even strength this year (obviously with the exception of a couple blowout losses) which is the main goal of this system, but we've struggled to take advantage on the power play and we're giving up too many goals on the penalty kill. I think we should keep him until the end of the year, simply because the transition of coaches midseason with all of the Covid restrictions would be more trouble than it's worth. Next offseason when his contract expires, go after a new coach like Gallant.

The difference is when players aren't skating hard and coasting and constantly make the same bad dump plays that aren't working it's the coaches fault. He's the worst coach in the league and it's not close. I get we aren't trying to win, but not even being competitive is destroying some of these kids confidence. Nielsen should never be in the lineup no matter what and same with filppula at this point. AV sits konecny for not playing right, but we can't sit ****ing Nielsen?

You have Fabbri and Ryan on your top line... and you're saying it's the coach? Once Zadina, Seider, Raymond and their draft pick this coming year are established then you can start worrying about the coaching
