They could use a defenseman, yes. Especially if Gryz is going to be out long term. It doesn't hurt. There are teams who probably need him more, but he'd thrive in a Cassidy system.

Even if Grz was out, they have Vaak. Cassidy mentioned him few times during camp and was impressed. If not for a numbers game he would have been on the opening night roster. They let Chara and Krug walk, didn't do anything to address it during the off-season and now have one of the best defenses....Dunn makes no sense, especially since it leaves them in a bad spot expansion wise.
