I'm a fan of McDonagh as a fit on this team, however I just can't see the Lightning willing to retain some of his salary for 6 more years to play for a division rival. I also believe his contract will cause this team issues with the likes of Carlo, Kase, Krejci, Rask,etc expiring after next season. The LHD void will be experimented this season with internal players such as Jakub Zboril, Urho Vaakanainen, and Jeremy Lauzon..Jack Ahcan being a wild card. If none of them can reach expectations, Sweeney (should) look to fill that void next offseason.

I'd suggest seeing what it could maybe take to get Sergachev on this team, as unlikely that sounds. I'd be willing to deal a first round pick for Sergachev and more, because let's be honest, what are the odds the Bruins make a first round selection that is better than Sergachev?

I'm hoping 1st round pick and more is a mistake in wording because Sergachev is worth a lot more than a late 20's pick.
