Description

Holl has never been given a chance with Reilly and had incredibly good defensive stats on an defensively bad team. This gives Reilly a Defensive first partner who is used to playing a lot of hard minutes and TJ Brodie and Muzzin play a well paired game giving the team a 1a,1b set of pairings.
The Leafs got 52% of the shots and goals with Holl on the ice. Holl played 1259 minutes with around 57% of his starts in the defensive zone yet had a +13 and the Leafs had possession more than they didn't when he was on the ice.

This is just an alternative idea and the top two defensive pairings would split the majority of the ice time with Lehtonen and Dermott playing the rest as sheltered minutes and giving the top players breathing room after power plays.

I didn't put enough thought into the special teams. Obviously they would give Bogo a bigger role on the special teams.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. I'm so sick of hearing how every NHL player is trash unless he can play both defensive positions on his own or all three forward positions. Next, you will be saying the mark of a good goaltender is playing with no forwards or D and scoring 15 goals.
