Honest Q: Why pay Dermott or Mikheyev more than $1M? It'd probably have to be 1-year deals for each, but neither has a strong case for the extra 1/4 mill. Every dollar counts, right?

Why go through all the trouble of finally getting NHL defensive depth to just give it away for nothing? How does literally everyone forget about the injuries from last year?

Soup is overpaid but it's fine, Dermott has been on the team for years now and he's been playing well. No he hasn't been a star but he's been serviceable.

All those players play the right side so what depth am I missing? Holl is expendable cause we have cheaper and arguably better options to play top 4. Lehtonen is a top 4 D and plays the right side. So is Brodie. Dermott is slated to be that. I don't understand the problem moving 1 guy?

Holl has been better on the right side than Marincin, Dermott and Lehtonen is an unknown although I think he'll push for more time. Muzzin and Rielly are left d. No one is expendable until someone else proves they are better, as of right now, no one has proven to be better than Holl apart from Brodie

Those 3 players aren't being paid $2 million. Holl is overpaid in this case. Itd be fine if not for pandemic.
