Description

Needs: 2c, top 4 d, and backup goalie capable of 20-30 games.

The jets draft one of Jarvis, lundell, perfetti, or another c at 10 oa so we only need a stopgap 2c.

We have the cap space, so let’s use it!

I’m not sure this team is elite but it’s good imo. Stastny is still very good imo and with wheeler and Connor, they could form a very good 2nd line. If stastny doesn’t work out as well as one would hope, then go out and get a guy like danault. Anyways, it doesn’t hurt to take a chance on him right?

Finally, I went with hamonic over demelo purely because of size.

My point is, that even if we get a playmaking middle 6 centre, I think this team is very good. I think stepan is also a very good option for the jets to trade for if stastny isn’t available. I would try to package perreault and some for stepan and raanta. Stepan is a very good option for Winnipeg imo and I think he still has a 50 pt season or 2 in him with the right team. In fact, he might be an even better option for 2c.

I like the signings! I have changed my tune and now prefer Hamonic over DeMelo for that exact reason: size. All UFA signings seem quite accurate to me. I wouldn't mind brining Stastny back for a year especially if we can draft a guy like Lundell at 10 in the draft to be a future 2C. If not, I think I would prefer a longer term solution but again, don't mind the Stastny deal!

Good luck moving 6.5 million dollars worth of a middle 6 for assets, especially in a flat cap. Personally I don’t see it. However I also didn’t think perreault could net assets either...so idk

I wouldn’t mind paying a 3rd tbh
