Well the math from today’s trade suggests to me that they can retain up to 50% of Henrik contract and reasonably replace the pick and end up still saving cap space for this season while getting to keep both young goalies. I could be wrong but I think he gets dealt at or before the draft.

Assuming the Rangers want to keep him it would probably cost more than BUF would want to give up. If the Rangers were definitely trying to hang onto Hank to be the backup I would say a second rounder would be reasonable value. But overpay in order to pry away a guy we aren't eager to sell. My opinion at least

Not necessarily. It's all on Hank and if he will waive his NMC. If not, buyout is pretty much the only option. He's not going to retire with 4.5M in salary still on the deal (the 1M signing bonus was already paid).
