If it were Andersson instead of Hanifin, I could see this offer definitely getting their attention -- but it's still a very competitive offer. Monahan would be unreal as a 2C behind Scheifele.

If you got Laine, I think you would need to trade Gaudreau as well - PHI being a very good option. You could recoup your defenseman (Hanifin/Andersson) lost in the WPG trade by snagging Sanheim or Myers and get a young center to eventually fill the gap Monahan leaves (Frost) -- plus likely recouping a pick or two which were also lost in the WPG deal.
