Description

This is honestly my favorite route they could go in as it keeps the current team intact who has been growing their chemistry and getting better and better, minus the four players who did not fit the lineup this past season. This scenario keeps both goalies, gives their young players a chance to show us what theyve got and does not apply dead cap to future years when we will need the space.

Ferland is a complete wildcard and could be done. In that case the team has space to add 2 more depth players. Id Resign Leivo and bring in Hoglander or Lind if either one shows well in camp. If not Anisimov can stay up with the team.

I disagree, Louies last year can be bought out at not much of a cost, one year of Louie vs one year of anisimov is pretty much a wash. considering its 4M for Anisimov in real dollars and Louie is only owed 1M in salary this next season. The second year for Virtanen is a great replacement for Bobby Ryan and they essentially get him for free, as this team wont be using its cap space over the next 2 seasons anyway.

You'd need to add at least a 2nd rounder to move Baertschi's contract he's basically worth nothing right now.
