Description

Lundqvist gets bought out and signs for league min. If he struggles, there is some insurance with Campbell and Forsberg. If things really aren't working out, Leafs can add goalie mid-season. With the upcoming expansion draft, there should be a ton of goalies available and Leafs will be able to add one with a higher salary than 700k as their cap space accrues. One of the few ways to add Pietrangelo, keep the core 4, and not take away too much from our depth.

Most other interactive GM teams have your RFA's making more than that. Sometimes way more. You think they'll be that cheap for that short of term? Honestly asking.

Yea, I agree with Trevorchef: creative and this is all for fun but yea I don't think you'll get a goalie for that cheap. Petro also likely to command $9+ AAV which isn't far off from your projection but I think if he leaves the Blues is the most money and most term from any contender he can find. IMO.

Leafs could make it happen to get Petro but I think Marner or Nylander would have to be traded for not much coming back the other way and I don't know how you swing those deals.
