Retain or Buyout

Situation is really not that bad.

Personally I don't see how a buyout is an option. Even retaining 50% would only cost slightly more than a buyout. And Fleury @ 3.5 mil for 2 years would still have value to quite a few teams.

Statsny Has to go, i don't see any other real option. Even if we have to retain a little, He is still productive enough with 1 year left it shouldn't be hard to move him. And with Glass, he is the easiest piece to replace.

Honestly this situation looks like a mess but i don't think it will cost us anything to get out of it.

In two years when Glass, Roy, Hague, and Whitecloud are coming off Basically league minimum deals. All that retained cap space will be there.

Stastny for Montour

Retain 2m on MAF. Conditional pick goes with him for % of games played for Fleury. Should return a 3rd at least.



Makes a ton of sense in principle, but 10 team NTC for Stastny.

This is Lehner's year to get paid and he's said he's going for term and money. It would surprise me if he signs a discount, especially knowing he loses 20% or whatever off the top due to the COVID situation. I really don't see him signing for less than 6x6.5 in term and money, potentially higher for both numbers.
