Rask, Krejci, and possibly Chara have one year left. I don’t see any of them being re-signed at the end of their respective deals, let alone if Chara comes back for next season. This will be the last run with the core as it is. In a perfect world the bruins can swing a trade for Eichel after next season with Krejci gone and Bergeron not far behind, but I have a feeling Buffalo will end up moving him sooner than that.

Forwards
Mostly the same, let Ritchie screw around in Providence and I want to see a full season of that Bjork-Coyle-Studnicka line. Even though they extended Wagner, Kuhlman feels like the better fit at 4RW

Defense
This is assuming Chara hangs em up, he’s just looked too slow to the point where his size no longer matters because guys are blowing past him. I’d be open to bringing him back in a limited role but I don’t think he can handle first pairing minutes any longer. I think although not a true first pairing Dman, Grzelcyk has played well with McAvoy. I believe Lauzon and Carlo could form a shut down pairing, and the signing of Dillon gives them some capable size on the back end.

Goaltending
Rask ultimately comes back for the last year of the contract. Can’t see him passing on that money. Halak has a year left as the backup but you definitely need to get Vladar some experience at some point during the season.

Letting Krug walk is hard but the right decision. The decline will happen at some point during his next contract and the money will not be worth it with the way he plays defense. I would let McAvoy take over the power play next season. That also leaves you about $6mil give or take in cap space available for the deadline
