The point of this is to show people on here that Rangers don’t need to make any crazy moves to become a contending team. They just need to ride out one more year of cap restrictions, and they can insert there excellent young players and then go out an find the C there lacking. Plus plenty of cap to spare and a likely continuing rising cap post COVID, they should be able to retain most/if not all of these players in 22/23

The plan, which I didn’t expressly state, would be to resign him for 1 year for 5 mil in 20-21 then either a. If the Rangers are out of the playoff picture trade him as a rental or b. If their in the playoffs, keep him for the run and let him walk UFA in 21-22. This helps them allocate money towards a better player as show here
