I am a huge believer in Marner and would rather not move him. But I think the upside to this roster with the depth and balance both front and back makes it a move you can’t turn down. I just feel like Pietrangelo at 9 mil on the back end has more value than Marner at 10.7 up front. Plus being able to field a top 4 D of this caliber is a major upgrade.

Balance out the bottom 6 and 5/6/7 D men with depth and veteran presence plus being a little tougher to play against and I feel the team is a little better suited for late season and playoff hockey.

The Mikheyev trade is just kind of a throw together to show the movement. Could be this kind of deal (a prospect and a later pick) or just a pick (I think a third likely on its own) But Mikheyev is a cap casualty because I prefer Robertson offensive upside and I like what Crouse brings to the bottom 6

Spezza, Perry, Sekera signing provide veteran depth and experience in playoff hockey (much like Spezza signing this season)
