Wouldn't you have preferred this linup + 8 first round picks? What would you do with all that cap room? Also we dont lose a 1st round to get rid of Marleau

There was no chance that was going to happen to marner. Matthews from arizona, maybe. Simply because it’s a huge marketing opportunity that would have been financially worth it. No one other than Dubas would have given marner over 10 million.

Columbus supposedly submitted an offersheet to Marner for 11x7. Marner declined it saying that he wanted less years and Jarmo was refusing to go any less then 7 years.

He went and signed Nyquist at half the cap hit and half the years. Looking back I’m happy Marner rejected.
