Description

Personally don't think that Domi is being used to his full potential with the Canadiens.
He could easily play with Hughes or Hischier in New Jersey and he gets to reunite with Subban to try and create some chemistry there.
If the Habs don't work well this season, Palmieri can be traded to a contender for a 2nd + prospect. Caufield could potentially fill the void if Palmieri is traded.

I could very well be wrong. I honestly forgot that Domi started his career with the Coyotes. I thought that he was always a Hab. Guess Domi and Subban could trade stories about their time in Montreal.

Domi is one year removed from a 72 point season. Would be a good offensive tool for NJ. Sure Palmieri essentially does the same thing, but getting 5 years younger in the process isn't that bad. Think Bastian is essentially a throwaway prospect (nice guy, but likely an AHLer or 4th line guy). I can see the point of trading away the first though. NJ would probably want to use that pick on a defender, rather than pick up a forward
