My point was to show that re-signing all 3 of Nugent-Hopkins, Yamamoto and Larsson is eminently reasonable from a cap perspective.

And GM's don't negotiate roster spots. The coach decides pairings and lines on a nightly basis well after the ink has dried on the contract.

I don't think it's imperative that we re-sign Larsson anyhow, as one of Berglund or Kemp can probably step in and save us another $3M+.

That can be done. The cap hopefully will start to rise after the 2021-22 season and I didn't have to sign a $5M UFA. Some of the younger players can be bridged until the Neal contract runs out, or alternatively he can be bought out to save $3.8M. Nurse or Klefbom can be moved if Broberg arrives, and there will be a decent (and cheap) forward from the 2020 draft coming in 22 or 23 too.

Bottom line is that Holland can re-sign all of Nugent-Hopkins, Yamamoto and Larsson if he wants to.
