Description

Florida Trade - Florida gives the better Dman and in return gets a cheaper one (Supposedly they want to shed salary) + a 2nd.

Calgary Trade - Basically looked at it like Johnsson for Bennett. Calgary retains 500k for one year. Then as Kerfoot for Jankowski and a 2nd. Leafs take a big risk with Jankowski at 3C, but he'll come cheap on his contract and is solid defensively.

There's also the cap savings, but if it makes you feel any better, you can remove the 4th. I usually try to favor trades to the other team in case I'm slightly off on another teams player valuation. I disagree on the Weegar thing, though.

I think it depends on what you are looking for in a Dman, which is why I like him on the Leafs. Most teams I'd say he's more of good #3, but I think he'd pair excellently with Rielly.

For sure.. I just dont see how those two upgrade Leafs roster any more than for example having Korshkov in lineup.. they just dont. But the idea of getting cheaper players is certainly very good!
