Johnsson, Dermott, and Pool Party could be used as trade bait to upgrade at other spots on the roster.

Trading away Freddie might not be the smartest decision, but we get a stay at home D for Rielly and we get a reclamation project in Pool Party, and Lagesson could be a prospect that we grow within our system. Khudobin could be a reliable tandem goalie for Campbell, and we can use pieces like Johnsson, Dermott, Kerfoot, or Pool Party to upgrade at goalie if the experiment of Khudobin and Campbell fails early on in the season (35% win rate over first 10 games 3-6-1)

I debated on signing Thompson for the 4C position, as it gives the Leafs another guy that wouldn't be afraid to stand up for the rest of the team. But I think that would be okay with Bortuzzo, Clifford and Kappy.

If Kerfoot would be traded, I would slot Spezza at 3C with Engvall on the wing, so that the players could swap around to play their stronger sides at C.
