No he cannot help any team win, especially not Buffalo, he is a 3.5 mil cap hit that takes valuable roster positions in both the NHL and AHL. We don't want him and I doubt we get anything for him.

Also where is Pilut? Once he is healthy he is definitely playing, who would he replace? I don't think we should sign Gardiner, rather have Pilut as the 2nd LHD

I don't see why Tampa Bay wouldn't make this deal. The deal is actually pretty lop-sided to me. Even if you switch Tampa's pick to a 1st going to Buffalo, I still have a hard time believing Sabres make this deal. This isn't Jeff Skinner NHL18 Canes-Sabres trade 2.0 here.

You can get a late late draft pick for him. Somewhere in the 5th to 7th round range. Just don't give up players for nothing. It's bad business.

But top4 RH defensemen are more valuable than middle6 wingers- and Tyler Johnson has been playing mostly wing for a bit now

I think a trade with the Jets makes the most sense for the Sabres (& Winnipeg)
Something like Risto for Eihlers, with pieces added
Probably Buffalo taking on Perrault’s 4mil Cap Hit to give the Jets needed relief
