Rangers can afford increase for buyout for smith and staal year 2 since Girardi's goes down 2+m and Namestnikov/Kreider are traded at the deadline for nhl ready prospects and/or picks (assuming Namestnikov has a mini break out between panarin and kravtsov)

Year 2, Miller transfers from NCAA to take 2nd LHD pair, shattenkirk gets traded at half at some point for a mid pick, and next year looks like. bonus is we keep fox in NHL for less than 30 games (assuming shattenkirk goes at the deadline) and we get to keep our 2nd rounder in 2020.
