Top two lines should both be dynamic scoring wise . 3rd line the KKK line if Kubalik comes as advertised might be best third line in hockey Kadri brings is an elite super pest with grit and talent one of the best 3 rd line centers in the league . JT , SEABS ,KEITH , get to keep HIM IN LINE . 4TH line should have plenty of grit and shutdown ability . Pesce , Chariot and Benn give quality depth to nhls worst d unit . When stud D prospects are ready MURPHY , SEABS , KEITH will either have to be traded or bought out . Benn can be demoted or traded ,Chariot can be traded . SEABS maybe can be offloaded at the expansion draft . Team is much younger faster team with depth throughout the lineup .

No way Leafs make that trade. Also, if you're giving the #3OA pick away, Marner better be coming back as part of the package instead of Kadri, Johnsson or Kap.

Your over valueing 3rd overall . I would rather get two under 24 yrs old 25 to 30 rfa goal scorers on great contracts for 3 to 5 yrs and one of the best 3rd line pest centers in the game then one more 10 plus million dollar contract that hamstrings team for the next 4 yrs until JT and KANE contracts end

MARNER is worth much more then a 3 rd overall . In reality he is worth more then this yrs 1st overall and much more , he is 21 yrs old . He had 94 points this year . and has 17 points in 20 career playoff games . check JT AND KANES STATS AT 21 YEARS OLD AND THEN TALK . H e was leafs best player by far , in the playoffs blocking shots cycling the puck and being a team leader at 21 yrs old . With Marner you know what your getting , a star player who is not even in his prime where as HUGHES OR KAKKO could turn into DAIGLE OR Pulilujarvi they are a roll of the dice .

Clearly I said coming back as "part of the package". You don't trade a top 5 draft pick for a 3C and a couple supporting wingers while giving up a 60 point D guy and a 3C. It's a bad trade for the Hawks hands down. None of those players has the potential of Byram or Turcotte. None of those players is more valuable then a 60 point D guy...heck, none of those player put up 60 points and they are forwards. Sorry, just not a good trade.
