This is an awful deal for the Jackets. For the Jackets to even think about picking up the Lucic contract the Oilers would have to be offering their 1st round pick this year and a good prospect, and you think the Jackets are giving up Wennberg too?! Crazy

No money difference for CBJ with the retained salary on Lucic, and at least when Lucic isnt playing well he still brings something to the table in terms of toughness and leadership. Wennberg is starting problems with the coaching staff and stuff so I figured the Jackets would want him gone as he only scored a couple more points than Lucic last year and actually had fewer goals.

You are right , he is younger and perhaps more importantly when talking about these two players he is easier to buyout. Thats why I added two second round picks (one very early 2nd rounder this year) to a team that has literally no picks as incentive to part with the younger guy.

Wennberg had fewer goals than Lucic last year and was causing problems in the room, its my understanding the Jackets want him gone.
