I don't see why Toronto would buy-out Marleau. They still keep the cap hit.
Toronto wouldn’t be the one buying him out. Kinda like the orpik deal last year. He gets traded somewhere, they buy him out and get paid to do so and Toronto signs him at a 1 year contract for cheap.

Doesn't matter, Even if another team buys out Marleau the Leafs are still stuck with his cap hit since he's a 35+ contract. And you know that you can't trade a player for buy out purposes and then resign that player for cheaper. Tampa tried to do it with LeCavalier and couldn't you'd need to wait a year before you can resign a traded player.
