Basically, you're throwing in Drouin, who is at an all-time low value. Ikonen is Habs 20th prospect. Lekhonen is fast becoming a 4th liner, and sprinkle some 2nd round picks in there to try and make it more appealing. I'm a Habs fan, but that trade proposal is insulting for Pittsburgh.
BUT, I like trying to get Malkin though.
The basis of this trade is potential.
Drouin: Sure is value is really low but he's only 24 yo and has a lot of talent, he could be a nice winger for Crosby
Ikonen: Sure Habs has a lot of prospect, but Ikonen could be one to sacrifice. He was injured for the majority of the season but he came back strong in the Liiga (10 pts in 13 games)
Lekhonen: I don't know why a lot of habs fans say he's not good. He's a hardworker, has some offensive upside and he's responsible defensively. Luck wasn't on his side this year (lots of post, broken stick and missed opportunity). He'll never be a top winger but has potential to be a solid 3rd winger.
And finally, these lasts years, 2nd round picks seem to be more popular than 1st round
