I spend way too much time thinking about potential Sharks rosters

Description
1. I feel like it's pretty well established that San Jose's biggest problem is its goal tending (or lack thereof this season >.<) and imo having a strong 2nd goalie to relieve the pressure on Jones & take more games than Dell has (understandably) been trusted with would help tremendously. (I also think that changing out the goalie coaching staff over the off season should be a priority for the Sharks - that both Dell and Jones fell off a cliff at the same time speaks of larger issues than just the players.) I really like Nilsson and feel like he'd do well in San Jose - and the team has to do something to keep its Swede tally up if Karlsson, Karlsson, and Nyquist all leave :P

2. Logan Couture is a competent center but I feel like he's a much more effective winger. Shifting him back to the wing means bringing in another center & I like a lot of things about Nelson. I think adding him to the 2nd line would do great things for the Sharks (of course, another option would be to re-sign Nyquist for 6 million and keep Couture at the center - I went this route for the reasons above and also it keeps that 2020 second in play for the Sharks if they don't hit the finals this year)

3. Yes, Jumbo is getting severely underpaid here, but he has expressed a willingness to take a pay cut before & in this scenario I would put some easily attainable performance bonuses in place regarding point production (say, 30) and games played (half the season or so) to compensate for the lowered base salary.

4. I know that it looks like I'm over the cap here, but I wanted to include all the options for the 4th line and the 3rd right defense pairing because I think that the Sharks have some options there, depending on how training camp goes over the summer. Without the extra bodies in place the cap hit goes down significantly, which leaves some wiggle room to match any potential offer sheets on Meier or Labanc or for deadline trading shenanigans.

5. The Detroit and Dallas trades are more or less placeholders - I think those players could wind up on a variety of teams but those two would make a certain amount of sense to me, personally.

Thoughts? Disagreements? I'd be delighted to talk!

Détails additionnels:
let me make this very clear: I picked this dude entirely based upon his AMAZING last name - I don't care who the Dell trade is for but man, bonus if we could swap him for a name like that.

Braun could slide right into Jaros' spot - neither of them are great at this point, but Braun has 8 seasons of solid play and is still putting up better numbers.

The Sens don't have any interest in that trade or a trade like it; it'll take a lot more than a pick upgrade for them to take your unwanted contracts. Dell offers the Sens nothing; they already have a logjam of average goaltenders that are blocking the way for the three kids with bright futures. They don't need another. Braun does the same; Jaros is younger and the Sens don't need an old defender blocking the way while having guys like Lajoie and Brannstrom waiting to crack the lineup too. Why do they need to slide someone into Jaros' spot? He does a solid enough job and is getting better with every game. That's the opposite of what a rebuild is about to take an old and declining player and replace an NHL caliber youngster meant to be a part of the future.

And stay away from Crookshank. He's our newest little secret and the next Sens late rounder that they grow into a superstar before trading him for spare parts.

Like I said, I know absolutely nothing about Crookshank beyond his AMAZING name - which is what I picked him for. I'm delighted that he's looking good for y'all - from a quick scan it looks like the Sens have some real potential in their prospects and that's certainly going to be a blessing in the future.

Braun's contract runs one more year and I could honestly see him going to Ottawa for that season. I don't see y'all making any real moves until 2021 and having a vet defender with a solid 8 year track record (points ranging from the teens to 33, 5 straight years of being on the positive side of +/-) who likely just needs a change of scenery or a chance to recover from an undisclosed injury might well be worth the roll of the dice to Sens management. Idk man, maybe I'm totally off base here, but I don't think it's outside the realm of possible.

No way Ottawa trades Crookshank. He looks like he's the latest late round gem from the sens scouting department.

Sens also have no need for Dell. Sens will likely fill the NHL backup role internally, and I'd rather have two young up and coming goalies fighting it out in Belleville than have a nothing backup like Dell taking up space.

While I would personally rather have Braun than Ceci, it looks like Cody is going to be around for a long time, which means there's not really a good spot for him. DeMelo was our most reliable Dman this year, Ceci is a mainstay unfortunately, and Jaros has been steadily improving all season. Makes no sense to push a young player like Jaros out of the lineup in favor of a 33 year old who is past his sell by date.

Not that I don't agree with you, I don't see Ottawa being interested in that deal but the bolded sentence made me go rolling eyes

He's just alright......Don't get your panties in a twist. 95% chance he never plays more than 5 games in the NHL. There are literally dozens of players like this on many teams.

He's a 5th round pick who has exceeded expectations in his freshman season. I'm allowed to be optimistic that the guy with the awesome name might be good, calm down.
