Description

Anaheim decides to tear it down and Montreal has the cap space to make this happen. Maybe Perry agrees to waive. So that he can be in the playoffs. Perry might help our awful PP. Maybe the ducks would want more for Perry but I couldn't justify it to myself to give up more for a player clearly declining and having a giant cap hit. Also no way would I trade for him if we dont also get Mahura with him.

Wouldn't the Habs be much offer just to spend 5.8m each year for three years on a good player than on Perry? Surely 5.8m gets you a better player

Corey Perry is a shell of his former self, Trading for him makes absolutely zero sense from the Habs perspective.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Ducks fan and would love to see the Perry/Kesler contracts disappear, and would do this deal in a heartbeat, however, the question that I keep asking myself when I see these deals is:

"Why the heck would Corey Perry waive his NMC?"

He lives in SoCal. His wife and child live in SoCal. He's played in Anaheim for his entire career. He's won a cup. I just don't see much that makes me believe that he'd jump at the chance to get out of Anaheim.
