Zibanejad isnt signing that contract.. Thats way too low and no length to it either.. He would accept an offer sheet before that

My guess is we could give them 2 picks and player/prospect for Anisimov

The important thing would be Anisimov for the Rangers... Forget their return for a second. However they save 3M in cap that they need

Heard the same thing BUT Miller is better on the wing so cant say i want to have him at center instead of Johansen</div></div>
Plus Miller and Hayes play well together so i wouldnt want to lose that combo

To get a #1 like Johansen would be great, giving up Zucc would suck though

Staal gone.. Nashville Trade... Still Cap space 2.0
Biggest problem with getting a guy like Jarnkrok is, yes his contract is really great, but in a couple years when Andersson or Chytil are ready there is nowhere to put them... Dont waste good talent on the 4th line IMO

I dont dislike Miller, but he is not a good center IMO.. keep him at wing at that is fine, McD is probably 6.5 or 7 Mill because his all around game(compared to Shatty) and Hayes will probaby be around 4 Mill and so would Miller, Skjei will be an interesting contract, Not sure how much that will be, could see long term for 3-4 Million, That would be 17.5 million using the lower estimates on McD and Skjei.. Miller gone makes that 13.5M which would be reasonable, plus we have Gropp, Boo, and some other prospects that will be ready soon.. Boo and Gropp could potentially play now</div></div>
12M is the differential to now.
McD+3
Miller +2
Skjei +5 (longterm)
Hayes +2
is the worst case calculation.
I don't think we will ever see Nieves and Gropp in the NHL.
And you still don't give up a 50 point winger for a 3rd line center.</div></div>
I get your point, and we dont know how he will play on the rangers either... Gropp i think will be in the NHL.. have been following him for some time now and think he will be a big help eventually. Nieves is hit or miss but shows he could be called up if need(injury wise)

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>generalnuma</b></div><div>Are you a Nashville fan or a Rangers fan? Why would you get rid of Millsey for a couple of guys that had somewhat decent-ish playoffs?
<strong> Calle Jarnkrok</strong> Nashville Predators UFA 25 C 81 15 16 31 -1 15:43
<strong>Pontus Aberg</strong> Nashville Predators RFA 23 LW 15 1 1 2 -2 12:20
<strong>J.T. Miller</strong> New York Rangers RFA 24 C, RW 82 22 34 56 17 16:21
What benefit am I missing here? Future cap space? Nash has 1 year left and won't cost as much after that. Skjei, Hayes, and Vesey won't be commanding massive pay increases after this upcoming season. I don't see any benefit from this whatsoever.</div></div>
I like Jarnkrok a lot, and I am a Rangers Fan.. forget about the picks, i like Aberg and think he has potential to be a very solid player, Jarnkrok is the person i want most out of this trade... Aberg was just a though

Miller, Hayes, Skjei and McD extensions should be feasible with ~12M. the only problem is the Staal buyout cost spike in two important years so trading him with a high pick instead of throwing away Miller seems a better option for me. especially since we don't know Abergs ceiling and Jarnkrok is probably a (good) career 3C with 30-35 points a year while Miller is a potential 50-55 point guy.</div></div>

Picks can change, its an estimate right now. just seeing if we can get some younger players. Rangers are good at developement, but lets keep the younger players and make them useful to US not another team like normally

big minutes are on McD, Shattenkirk, Skjei and Smith. DeAngelo and Bereglszov can be sheltered.</div></div>
Even the bottom pair play 15 minutes a games. They have to NHL competent. And an injury or two...the Rangers blue line looks woefully thin.</div></div>
But with cap space we could sign a 1 year deal for depth if we need to

big minutes are on McD, Shattenkirk, Skjei and Smith. DeAngelo and Bereglazov can be sheltered into their respective roles. McD has dragged around much worse players for the better parts of his career. the problem with Staal is sitting 5,7M in cap space. the alternative is him taking up a roster spot that we could give to Bereglazov. a team that's high on its veterans will probably struggle with kicking out 3 of their 4 A's in one offseason (Stepan, Girardi, maybe Staal) too.</div></div>
At least there are players that will be able to take leadership roles(Zucc, even Shatty)

I am confident in it. The team gets younger and faster because of it, Kampfer is the perfect 7th man so we dont waste cap space. Bereglazov played in the KHL so i think the transition, plus what was seen in prospect camp, he will adjust well. DeAngelo will be ok on the 3rd pairing with Smith.

Which Zibanejad did, as long as he follows through with it until his hearing on the 25th of July.

I figured that we would get a solid center at a very reasonable price, Miller is someone who has the value to push the trade through while not a lot of teams see Holden as an asset because of hiding behind McDonagh, Picks could be changed or 1 of the 2 taken away

@TBraid97 you do know that it is a different Aho right? This Finnish forward Aho, not the Swedish defensman Aho.

Rebuild on the Fly
I think trading away Gropp would be a mistake based on growth in the WHL, But i like the rest of that trade. Unless Staal waives his NMC he will be with the Rangers. i would not pay over 5.5 for Shattenkirk, plus i dont want him for that long, honestly dont want him at all. Would rather bring Day up, or keep Holden
