Gurianov is already playing in the US. He is currently playing with the Texas Stars. I haven't heard of any issues with him wanting to go back to Russia to play in the KHL.

Sharks future w/ seguin?
So Dallas is supposed to give up their #1 C for depth forwards and a couple of picks? I don't see that happening.

Dallas doesn't need Coburn - but I'm guessing that is just a CAP Dump so it doesn't really matter what team it is.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bloodykisame</b></div><div>Really dallas says no without question zucc a 55-60 point player has already had his value been determined aroudn the 13th pick and nyr are giving up a 3rd on top of that and taking back a 4th. This suits both dallas and nyr needs as dallas needs a top 6 winger and zucc has a great contract for them, so I do not see them saying no with no hesitation maybe after some long deliberation but this is legit a good offer for both teams.</div></div>
I'm not saying Zucc isn't a good player, but I don't see GM Jim giving serious consideration to that offer when there are several good top-6 wings on the UFA market that don't cost him 13th overall pick. It's not a blow him away offer and it keeps him from picking in the first round in the draft his team/city is hosting. Also, the trade above has Dallas adding a 3rd and taking back the 4th rounder. So yes, if that was the offer he would not hesitate to say no.

When did NYR get the rights to UFA John Tavares IOT sign him for eight years?
Also, Dallas says no to that deal without hesitation. Some of the other trades look a little more realistic as far as value goes.

Kessel to Dallas
Stars would pass on that offer - Faksa is not going anywhere let alone with Easy and Nichushkin. Not that I would mind Kessel on the roster, I just don't think the Stars have the assets (that they'd be willing to part with) to get it done realistically.

Current thinking (taken from several articles by people with good knowledge of the Stars) is the Stars are going to see if Spezza has a bounce back year under a coach that preaches more of a puck possession/attacking game vice the Hitch dump & chase. Also, Spezza's cap hit for next year is not an issue (unless the Stars are secretly pursuing JT - not happening) so there is no need to "salary dump" him with a promising puck moving D prospect for less mobile D and a mid round pick.

I would say no to all of the proposed UFA signings. Too much term for Elie, Shore, and Smith, I don't think they will be able to sign Janmark or Johns for that term at that low of a cap hit - those probably need to be no more that three year deals for that cap hit.
As of now it's looking like the left side D next year will be Lindell, Heiskanen, and Methot and the right side D being Klingberg, Johns, Honka with Heatherington or inexpensive UFA being the 7th D (barring trades this off season). As for forwards, it's looking like Nichushkin is coming back from the KHL and it sounds like the plan is to bring up some of the youth to fill the holes, although I see them potentially signing a top-6 left wing to play 2 line pushing Janmark down to Faksa's wing on line 3. There will most likely be better/younger back-up goalie options for less money than what you proposed for Kari.
We'll see how it goes though.

Trades w/ MTL, DAL, VAN, BUF... See disc.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DirtyDangles</b></div><div>This fills the needs of DAL very well. Lehtonen is absolute trash and their RW is just bad beyond Radulov. Spezza is basically a cap dump so that also works in the FLyers favour. The conditions on the 2020 1st makes a big difference in the deal. Basically the value breaks down like this IMO...
Neuvy>Spezza
Simmonds (1 Year) = 13OA + Gurianov, first rights to get an extension done with simmer and remainder of value difference between Spezza and Neuvy
DAL 2020 1st makes up the remaining value if Simmonds resigns with DAL.
I put zero thought into DAL hosting because it makes ZERO difference. If the team gets better with a trade, the GM is going to make it. Trade gets done at the draft and DAL still gets their draft excitement.</div></div>
I think you might be slightly overvaluing Simmonds - which isn't to say he's not a player I would mind seeing in Dallas - I would actually love it for Dallas to acquire him, I just don't think he's worth basically 3 1st round picks for potentially 1 year which is what you are suggesting.
On top of that Kari as a starter was no good - true - much like Neuvirth for part of last year. This year as the back-up Neuvirth had a 2.60 gaa / .915 save percentage compared to Kari's 2.56/.912 which looks pretty similar to me. Add in Kari is off the books and there are several back-ups that will be UFA's this summer that don't cost us anything but a contract.
The current thinking is that Spezza would have a bounce back year with the new coach who is more of a puck possession/controlled entries guy than Hitchcock's offense killing dump and chase scheme that isn't Spezza's game at all. Dallas also doesn't have any Cap issues that would require them to dump Spezza in a $ saving move - he comes off the books next year when Seguin's big raise would take effect.
Stars look to be bringing back Nichushkin this summer to play on RW. Their biggest need is looking like a #2 LW (currently held by Janmark) which Simmonds could fill, but with JVR , James Neal, David Perron, Rick Nash, Evander Kane as potential LW UFAs to be signed for nothing but $; and that doesn't include the young prospects that will be vying for a spot with the Org talking about giving their youth a chance to step up, I just don't see them giving up that much futures for potentially 1 year of Simmonds - especially with how high the NHL as a whole is WRT 1st round pick value and developing from within.
I also think the fact they are hosting has an impact - they'd have to be blown away with the offer to give up their first round pick this year, especially not receiving a later one as part of the return and Simmond's for 3 1st rounders just doesn't do that in my eyes.

I don't see the Stars giving up the 13th overall pick (and only 1st round pick) the year they host the draft and a top prospect with another 1st round pick (conditional or not) for 1 year of Simmonds and a back-up goalie. Maybe Simmonds and 19th overall for 13th overall but they may still balk at that with the talent level/potential that is supposed to still be available at 13 - just my .02 cents.

Round 1 Mock Draft
Thanks yanp007 - the only thing I see that could keep Kotkaniemi from going there or higher is his skating style (nothing that can't be fixed, but not on par with other top 10 picks). As a Stars fan I'm hoping for either Kotkaniemi or Veleno, as of now anyways - that may change as more pro analysis of these guys comes out prior to the draft in June.

TDL-18 - Fresh Start for Trade Acquisitions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Starsfan98</b></div><div>I'd rather pass. Chucky and Domi will bring to the team an excessive $8M of cost in 2018-19, which Dallas really cannot afford to take. Cap wise, we'll be better off with the players we already have.</div></div>
We have just over $13M coming off the books for next year (expiring UFA contracts) and only need to resign a back-up goalie as other holes can be filled from within the organization (but even with your guess of $8M for these two, that leaves another 5 ish to bolster the lineup further if desired). Outside of making a run at Tavares - which I don't think is likely - there is no need to pinch pennies for the next few years as GMJN2 has things lined up for all of our big resigning needs money wise.
While losing Honka hurts a bit, the skill these two bring would be a boost both now and moving forward.
