Any Price trade is an off season one and his value likely depends on how he looks when he comes back. People on here can argue all they want but he still holds positive value among NHL GMs and where that value lands will depend on the rest of this year. Best case scenario he plays good, they retain and get multiple 1st round picks for him. Worst case he looks average to below and they just keep him as a leader for the next generation.</div></div>

Yeah Price traded after this season if he comes back and shows he's still performing. I just don't think he's useful enough to keep him in a rebuild, he'll just prevent us from getting 1OA

If you want to say that you haven't seen toffoli play just say that... "physical stuff" is clearly not Toffoli's strength but he'd be a great finisher alongside talented playmakers (Panarin/Strome?). No, he won't be a top6 line driver but nobody trades these players at the deadline anyway.

These are not good numbers, in fact they are quite bad. Worse, they're largely caused by poor defensive metrics - he allows more shots against than average of his teammates, he allows more goals against, more scoring chances and more high danger corsi. It isn't due to zone starts either, he generally gets about 50% offensive zone starts.

He had one good playoff run where the refs allowed him to hack and whack opponents at will, and Habs fans think he's suddenly a 1st pairing defenseman who is worth a whole ton. Genuinely he's a replacement level guy and has been his entire career.

I personally hate Chiarot and wouldn't want him on my team. Realistically he's probably a 4th or 5th defenseman but the truth is, trading him will return at least a 2nd round pick whether you like it or not and regardless of stats. It has been reported by Friedman and he's exactly the type of player GMs want at the deadline (because most GMs are idiots). Don't forget Savard got a 1st + last year.
