I think the Zucker deal is solid, just think his cap hit is a bit high. I know he put up 64 a couple years ago but who knows if he can replicate that kind of production.

Giving up too much in the Chicago deal, especially since they are retaining salary. Smith's deal is bad but Anisimov's isn't much better. The 2nd alone should be enough.

Toffoli deal is pointless and hurts us in the long run. I think he has shown what he is and his best days are likely behind him. Better off holding onto ELC's for young guys if they aren't going for it right away. Center depth is so valuable in today's game so the rags are better off seeing what they've got in the 3 young guys before making any premature decisions.

Management has a lot of respect for Staal, who also has control over where he goes. If anything he will be bought out but I can't see that happening either.

Too early to trade Georgiev, should hold on to him for at least the deadline to see what we've got there. Shesterkin has a lot of potential but we should still hold off on moving Georgiev until we're certain Igor is the future.

Although I think the value is fair for both teams in the Vegas deal, I don't think it really makes sense for either side. Unless Shatty is moved, Miller doesn't make much sense. We've addressed the right side in recent years with guys like DeAngelo, Fox, Lundkvist, and Pionk (although I think he'll be moved too). Vegas doesn't need to pay big money to more top six wingers so doesn't make much sense for them either.

Can't see Nashville having much interest in Vesey after he spurned them a few years ago.

Hate to go in on a fellow rags guy but these are just my opinions.

Team is projected to have around 16mil in cap space this summer and the cap in supposed to increase so it could be closer to 20mil. Key free agents are Buch, DeAngelo, Pionk, and Lemieux. Don't think both DeAngelo and Pionk will be on the opening night roster, personally I think Pionk will be traded. The rest of those contracts should equal around 10mil total (4-4.5 for Buch, 2.5-3.5 for DeAngelo, no higher than 2 for Lemieux). Assuming one of Vlad, Vesey, or Strome are moved that should leave about 13mil for any of Panarin, Duchene, or Karlsson (although the only one I think they will be in on is Panarin). Could also see them trying to package picks/prospects to move one of Smith or Shattenkirk but that is less likely.

Cap situation will be fine.
